At the 12th BMBF Forum for Sustainability from 14-15.09.2015 in Bonn, Germany, Rapid Planning Coordinator Dieter Steinbach was invited for a plenum interview session to speak about “Research as part of sustainable innovation steps in local contexts”. By the examples of “Rapid Planning” and the development of a waste/resource management company in Nairobi, Kenya he explained the necessity of scientific based options for each relative innovation step to help decision takers to achieve the goal of implementing broader innovation. The other session partners were speaking about E-waste handling and recycling and the production of bio-plastics from renewable resources. The moderator was Shary Reeves, known from German TV format „Wissen macht Ah!“ (“Knowledge does Wow!”). We were happy to hear that Shary is very interested in our project and that she offered a personal involvement in an activity related to dissemination of knowledge especially to young people.
